Terms and Conditions

By booking on any of our cookery workshops you agree to abide by our terms and conditions.

What's Included

Ingredients, utensils, knives, equipment, aprons and refreshments are provided for all workshops.  We reserve the right to make amendments to workshop content.  You may be requested to bring containers to transport your food home.

Application Requirements

You must be 13 years or over to attend our workshop unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Health and Safety

All participants must wear shoes with flat, non-slip soles and covered toes.  We are not liable for any damage that occurs to clothing.  Long hair must be tied back in the kitchen.  All course participants will receive a short briefing on health and safety before the session commences.

Food Allergies

Please inform us in advance of any allergies, disabilities, diabetes, pregnancy, epilepsy, learning difficulties etc.  Also, if you are taking food home with you to be eaten at home, please advise of any allergies of family members who will be eating the food.  We use nuts in our kitchen regularly so we cannot guarantee a nut free environment.

Payment

Each workshop will state whether a deposit or full payment is required at time of booking.  Payment can be made by PayPal (via our website booking system) or bank transfer (bank details on request), or by cash in person.

Liability

The Cookery Nook will not accept responsibility for the loss of any personal possessions.The Cookery Nook will not be liable for any loss suffered by you which is indirect, special or consequential.The Cookery Nook will not be liable for any loss suffered by you resulting from any event which is beyond the reasonable control of The Cookery Nook.

General

The acknowledgement or processing of an order or quote does not constitute legal acceptance of your order or quote.

An order or quote is deemed accepted only upon receipt of full payment for the total value of the workshop.  The order confirmation, in the form of an email, contains all the contractual terms agreed between you, the email addressee and The Cookery Nook.  No failure or delay by The Cookery Nook in enforcing any of its rights under the Contract shall be deemed to be a waiver of such rights.

The Contract shall be governed by English Law

Cancellations

Our cancellation policy is designed to give customers the freedom to change a workshop booking without penalty when enough notice is given, but we have some conditions around short notice cancellations which have an impact on other customers and our business. We will always try and help wherever possible, but please familiarise yourself with our terms of cancellation below.

Terms of Cancellations

To request a cancellation you must give The Cookery Nook written notice (either via letter or email) of your request. Unless you have received a written acknowledgement from us that we have received your request you cannot consider your request delivered.

You may only terminate the contract in the circumstances set out below:-

 

Workshop cancellations more than 7 days from the date of your session

You may request a change of workshop date up to 7 days before the date of the workshop and we will happily transfer you to another date, or a different workshop of your choice subject to availability, there may be a cost difference depending on the workshop chosen.

You may also request a refund up to 7 days before the start of the workshop you have booked. Please note there is an administration and handling charge for workshop cancellations of £10 per workshop and £10 per person for a group booking.

Workshop Cancellations within 7 days of session date

Most bookings are made weeks in advance. It is therefore often hard for us to resell any places within 7 days of the start of the workshop date.

If you want to cancel your booking within 7days of the date of your workshop we will relist your place for resale to other customers. If we are unable to resell your place in the time remaining, you will forfeit any session fees associated with your booking.  We will allow you to transfer your booking to another person - you must provide us with their contact details.
